Annogen is recruiting a Bioinformatician

About the role

Given the growing demand for our expertise, we are looking for a highly motivated (senior) bioinformatician to join our team (32-40 hours/week, on-site), enthusiastic about science with a strong desire to contribute to valuable applications. In this role you will use existing data processing pipelines for the analysis of complex biological data sets and to generate biological insights. You will also be part of our team’s efforts to develop and implement novel pipelines and computational methods, including deep-learning models, to automate data processes. You will report results internally and to clients, using interactive dashboards and statistical reports. Internally, you will communicate with colleagues from both wet-lab and dry-lab.

Qualification requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, data science, or a related field
  • Experience in application of deep learning models to biological data is of particular interest
  • Proficiency in programming languages R and Python and experience working in a Linux environment
  • Experience with processing high-throughput sequencing data, using workflow managers (snakemake or nextflow)
  • Expertise in cloud computing, HPC cluster management, and Linux administration is favorable
  • Able to summarize results using graphical and textual tools, preferably using Rmarkdown
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a mixed wet- and dry-lab environment
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the Netherlands at the time of application.
