We are looking for a highly motivated bioinformatician to join our team (32-40 hours/week, on-site), enthusiastic about science with a strong desire to contribute to cutting-edge research. In this role you will use existing data processing pipelines for the analysis of complex biological data sets and to generate biological insights. You will also develop and implement novel pipelines and computational methods, including deep-learning models, to automate data analysis and to contribute to the ideation and prototyping of new product features and functionalities. Data is primarily generated in-house, complemented with public data where applicable.
You will report results internally and to clients, using interactive dashboards and statistical reports. Internally, you will communicate with colleagues from all disciplines.
Qualification requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, data science, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience desired.
- Experience in application of deep learning models to biological data is of particular interest
- Proficiency in programming languages R and Python and experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience with processing of high-throughput sequencing data, Snakemake, cloud computing (AWS) is a plus
- Able to summarize results using graphical and textual tools, preferably using Rmarkdown
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a mixed wet- and dry-lab environment
